Selah Joy

Selah Joy

My 7th daughter was born on 2-2-09.  We named her something that was on my heart for quite a while.  My wife never warmed up to it until the day of the birth.   I called her ‘my song of joy.’ And my wife’s heart was won over with the name.  Selah is from the book of Psalms.  She will be joyful in song.  She had lost 2 lbs. right away and we were concerned for her.  We fed her naturally, but had to use a bottle just to be sure Selah was getting the nutrition she needs.  She has now gained it all back including 10 ounces on 1 day.  Trudi was dancing in the doctor’s office.  Trudi’s blood pressure has progressively got better as well.  God is good to us.  Poor Selah, she is losing her hair now.  This is typical for our kids, over the next 3 years they will see it coming back again.

Kids are Great

There’s no doubt that the joy of Trudi’s and my life are our children.  They have shown us what love is all about.  They brighten our day and fill our lives with laughter and questions.  I wish I could remember every special moment that has slipped like sand through the fingers of my mind.  Nevertheless, I’ll mentions some recent accounts and over time I’ll throw in some of the older memories.

In the last two months

It was mid winter and my wife was running the kids from place to place.  She was heading back to the church on Quincy Street when she saw a boy picketing the church.  As she got closer she saw that it was our son Josiah.  He was holding up a sign that stated “If you want to ask Jesus into your heart, ask me.”  He asked Trudi if she could see it.  It was a little small she said.  It was the thought of it (obviously) that blessed us.  There was no instigation by anyone, yet a 10 year old boy stood in the cold holding up a sign for Jesus.  WOW, I love it.  Josiah was ready afterwards with a pen and a card with a ‘salvation poem’ on it to help someone say a prayer to receive Jesus.

A child was sick on a Sunday morning.  We decided that we would keep them all home so as to not spread anything around.  My oldest Christina (14 yr.) began to plead.  “Dad, I have to go to church, I love church, I’ll die without church.”  It’s neat to see her so hungry for the things of God.

For years every Sunday morning, my 3 oldest would get up with me at 5 am on Sunday mornings.  They wanted to be at church as soon as they could possibly get there.

It’s Supernatural

Pastor Andy LeFebre

“We need to get to the place where the

Supernatural isn’t  just Super,

It’s natural.”

This is a blog to help you stay up to date on our class called the ‘School of the Supernatural.’

Sunday mornings have been a highlight for me.  Every Sunday before church we have a class called the ’school of the supernatural.’  We take half of the time to teach or go over a chapter in a book like those of Bill Johnsons.  The other half of the time (45 minutes) is spent practicing the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It’s been an exciting time filled with new adventures.  We now have teams going out into the streets training in the gifts and how to witness in the Holy Spirit’s Power.

Weekly, the 20-25 are coming back with testimonies of what God is doing on the job, at home or in there various occupations.  I joked in church that we’ll need a separate time just for testimonies.

When  I share testimonies I will use fictional names.  If you need to talk to the person, I’m sure they would be glad to let you in on their blessing.

I distinctly recall 2 times we had newer people come in to the class.  We call them (fresh meat) because we don’t know them and we can (as a class) use the opportunity to practice the gifts.  One of the times last fall we had Roger  sit in our ‘hot seat.’  I asked him not to share a thing about his circumstances.  1st we had 6-7 prophetic words for him and then we asked if he needed any healing.  We asked him not to give us a clue.  We had 5-6 very specific words of knowledge which included Headaches, right ear, heart, lower back and knees.  Everyone was right on the mark.  He later stated that every prophetic word was right on as well.  I was amazed how God used the entire class.
